What do you do when your team’s project wins a Golden Nugget Award — think: The Academy Awards of the building industry — for Best Multifamily Community? You find a way to join forces again to create more exceptional homes, this time in Beacon Hill.
Rally was Intracorp’s recent collaboration with the pros at Johnston Architects. This unique townhome project transformed the site of a standalone restaurant and parking lot in West Seattle into a live-work community with all the character of an historic village.
Rally’s cool steel and brick storefronts jazzed up California Avenue, with a sweet, leafy courtyard tucked away where residents can enter their homes. There’s greenery everywhere. The project wasn’t just a hit with buyers. It also got noticed by the architectural and planning community, winning a Golden Nugget award in 2017. That year, the committee reviewed over 600 entries from the US and around the world. Contenders were evaluated on their achievements in design, green building, site planning and overall neighborhood cohesion — and Rally came out on top.
Now, it’s Contempo’s turn.
Intracorp and Johnston Architects have teamed up again for the 58-townhome collection of Contempo on the heights of Beacon Hill. Some of the industrial details that make Rally so desirable are here too — like oversized windows, metal and cedar accents, and interesting angles and roof lines. There’s even the same sense of community built right in, with plenty of courtyards and greenspaces for weekend sundowners, puppy meet-ups and more.
