The holidays are fast approaching which means it is time to begin decorating (if you haven’t already).  Here are some of our top tips for creating a cozy and festive feel in your home:

1. Pick a theme

First things first – pick a theme. Whether you opt to go classic with reds and greens or a white winter wonderland, or you choose to experiment with a modern tones like dusty rose and copper, choosing one theme will help to unify your space. Can’t decide on just one theme? Create a separate theme for each room in your home! Oh – and don’t be afraid to play around with silver and gold.

2. Go Cozy

One of the things we love so much about the holidays is how cozy our homes suddenly become. What better way to relax than with cashmere throw blankets and faux-fur decorative pillows? For an extra holiday touch, swap in some holiday themed pillows and throws.

3. Bring nature indoors

Apart from bringing a real Christmas tree into your home, there are plenty of ways to decorate with nature. Take a walk outside and collect some pinecones and branches to deck out your mantel or create a centerpiece for your dinner table. Greenery draped around the house creates an inviting atmosphere and brings the outside in. To elevate your holiday decor, we recommend accessorizing your greenery for an unexpected flash of color and sparkle.

4. Dress up your dinner table

The holidays are a time to celebrate with friends and family, and what better way to impress your guests than by sprucing up your dining table! Adding a festive table runner, candles, a garland, and that treasured holiday china that has been tucked away all year is the perfect way to liven up your holiday feast. These layers will create a visual delight for guests.

5. Make it personal

It’s amazing what a little bit of glue and glitter can do. Making your own holiday décor is the best way to add a personal touch to your space. It is also a great way to involve the whole family. Create personalized name tags for your dinner table or ornaments for your tree to make your space unique. Head to Pinterest for more great ideas!
