A relatively young area, Oakridge is consistently evolving and growing as a community with many features to offer. Although adding a lush and peaceful atmosphere to the surrounding area, the Langara Golf course is not the only asset of the neighbourhood. This area is full of local gems, including shopping centers, restaurants and more!

Roots Café
A Canadian Café ran by a mother-daughter team, Roots Café provides a comfortable and inviting community spot, offering espresso drinks and Canadian classics, such as poutine (it’s not Canada without some fries and gravy). A great study spot for Langara students and a family friendly atmosphere makes this café a real local gathering place.

Oakridge Shopping Centre
Opened in 1959, this was the first shopping center in Vancouver, and a huge draw to this community. Providing plenty of shops and an international food court, Oakridge shopping center is still a popular destination to this day. Conveniently located next to the Oakridge, 41st Canada line station, the mall sees almost 7 million visitors annually. Some highlights of this shopping destination include Crate & Barrel, Apple, Michael Kors, Stuart Weitzman, and Tiffany & Co.

ChaTime
Chatime Langara is a franchise located on Cambie street, one of the fastest growing bubble tea franchises. “Cha” means “Tea” in Chinese; this tea is brewed fresh in store, using natural ingredients, and each type is aimed at a specific function! Need a stress buster? Go with oolong. Or in need of some skin care? Choose a green tea. Bubble tea is a great thing to treat yourself to in this neighbourhood.

North Arm Trail Greenway
The North Arm trail runs along 59th Avenue from, Angus Dr to Argyle Drive. Along the way you can find Langara College, Maporole-Oakridge Community Centre, Woodland and green space in Everette Crowley park, and views of the river.
