I’ve always had a deep love for art, and it’s been such a joy to discover new favorite artists over the years. Many of them have come into my life through our Intracorp Art Collection, which we’ve thoughtfully curated with the help of our fantastic interior design teams. Watching this collection grow has been exciting, especially as we see beautiful pieces make their way from display homes to our office and into the communities we create, for residents to enjoy.
We’re so lucky to have stunning works from local artists adorning our office walls! From the vibrant pieces by Bobbie Burgers and Carla Tak to the unique styles of Miriam Aroeste, Tom Burrows, and Andrew Petterson, our workspace is truly enriched by the art we get to see every day. Many of these pieces not only hold sentimental value but have also increased in value. But I really see investing in art as an investment in our people—it sparks conversations, fuels creativity, and has been shown to reduce stress, helping to cultivate a healthier workplace culture.
At Intracorp, we also believe in the power of public art to bring people together, inspire reflection, and add beauty to our daily lives. Through our support of public art initiatives, we aim to create safer, more welcoming neighborhoods and enhance the cultural vibrancy of our communities. Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of unveiling another amazing installation by Douglas Coupland at our completed Telford on the Walk community in Metrotown. This piece will join the already impressive collection along the Beresford Art Walk—just one of the many things that makes this neighborhood special.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about even more public art coming your way! One highlight will be at our upcoming master-planned rental community, SIGNAL at Marine and Cambie—the largest co-op and rental renewal program in Canada, developed alongside Oxford Properties. This new public art will face the SkyTrain, making it accessible to commuters every day, and it will sit just across from the iconic Golden Tree installation by Douglas Coupland, which has beautifully marked the southern end of Vancouver since its completion in 2017 as part of Intracorp’s MC2 community.
As our collection and contributions continue to grow, we can’t wait to share more with you!
