Collaboration

In this issue we’ve chosen a chair that is the ultimate example of collaboration! Danish design brand HAY is putting a colorful spin on classic Eames designs for Herman Miller. This collaborative collection between HAY and Herman Miller has been in the making for 3 years, and is meant to mark 20 years of HAY, which was founded by husband-and-wife team Rolf and Mette Hay in 2002. For this collaboration (the first between these two modern furniture icons), Rolf and Mette decided to do something to honor their biggest professional influence: fellow husband-and-wife design team, Charles and Ray Eames. This new collection utilizes playful colors and innovative new materials, much to the delight of modern design enthusiasts. It includes 8 pieces, with a special version of the Eames molded Plywood Chair, finished in Hay’s signature emerald green shade.
