The 2025 International Builder’s Show (IBS) joined forces with the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas in February to showcase a dazzling array of innovative designs and cutting-edge trends that are set to transform kitchens and bathrooms. An estimated 124,000 plus industry professionals attended this combined show. Jessica Fabricant, Vice President of Marketing, Intracorp CA attended the show and discovered some of these latest trends. Let’s investigate what’s trending this year and learn how Intracorp is implementing some of these trends in the communities we build.

Kitchens: A Fusion of Function and Style

Sustainable Materials
Eco-friendly materials are taking center stage in kitchen design, with brands unveiling countertops, cabinetry, and flooring made from recycled or sustainable sources. The emphasis is on reducing environmental impact while maintaining luxury aesthetics.

Our single-family home community, Miren, in Arcadia, CA featured an optional Great Room fireplace in each home surround made with DektonTM by Cosentino, a carbon neutral, ultra compact porcelain surface with an optimized manufacturing process inspired by the beauty and aesthetics of natural stone that goes beyond nature, achieving the highest product performance. It is scratch resistant, stain-resistant and fire and heat-resistant.

High-Tech Innovations
Smart kitchens are becoming smarter. From touchless faucets to intelligent ovens, the integration of technology is making meal prep and kitchen maintenance easier than ever. Voice-activated appliances, integrated smart lighting, and advanced climate control systems are some of the exciting new features.

A Brilliant TM switch is typically located in the Great Room and Primary Bedroom of each home and additional switches can be optioned by the homeowner.

Multifunctional Layouts
Designers are prioritizing multifunctionality in kitchen layouts. Island counters with built-in storage, prep spaces, and even seating are growing in popularity, offering both practicality and style in smaller spaces.

Bold Color Palettes
Goodbye, all-white kitchens! 2025 is bringing in vibrant and daring hues like rich emerald greens, deep blues, and bold reds. These colors are paired with natural materials like wood and stone, making the kitchen a warm, inviting, and personalized space.

Bathrooms: A Retreat for the Senses

Spa-Like Retreats
Bathrooms are becoming true sanctuaries, with an emphasis on relaxation and self-care. Luxurious features like rainfall showers, indoor saunas, cold plunges, freestanding bathtubs, and ambient lighting help create a serene, spa-like atmosphere. Organic materials such as wood, stone, and soft-toned tiles elevate the experience.

Vintage Touches
Retro design elements are making a comeback in the bathroom as shown below at The Jessup (left) and Miren (right). From vintage-inspired fixtures to bold patterns, and retro mirrors and light fixtures, these nostalgic touches offer both style and a sense of timelessness.

Color Drenching
The color drenching trend is making waves, where a single color coats every surface, from the walls to the ceiling. This creates a striking, immersive atmosphere that enhances the sense of space and serenity.

Advanced Water Features
Water conservation remains a priority, with new technology in showerheads, faucets, and toilets that optimize water usage without sacrificing performance. Expect smart faucets that adjust water flow based on usage, further emphasizing efficiency. We plan to introduce some of these advanced, smart features in upcoming communities over the next several years.
