The scenic West Dyke Trail runs along Sturgeon Banks – a 21,000-acre estuary. Walk, jog, or cycle the 12-kilometre path from Terra Nova Rural Park to Garry Point Park. You’ll see spectacular views of the North Shore and Coastal Mountains, along with the picturesque Gulf Islands and ocean. Time your visits to coincide with the flocks of migrating birds or workout against a colourful sunset backdrop. The trail is dog friendly, and will become a favourite place for long walks with your four-legged friend.

For something a little different, visit Extreme Air Park, the largest trampoline park in Canada. At 42,000 square feet, the space offers all kinds of bouncing experiences. Play a game of zero-gravity basketball and slam dunk with more air than the pros. Jump off the walls along the 50-foot half pipe, and fly into a foam pit at the end. Try 3D dodgeball or vertical volleyball for a new take on the team sports. Or engage in intense fitness on the Extreme Workout Course, where you can burn 1,000 calories per hour with cardio, calisthenics, and core and strength exercises on the interlocking trampolines.

The historic fishing town of Steveston Village was discovered in the 1880’s, and for a time was the largest fishing port and cannery centre on the West Coast. Today, the community still has a lot of charm to explore. Rent a bicycle at Village Bikes and take in the historic buildings and old fishing relics. Treat yourself at the end of the day with a delicious meal of fish ‘n’ chips – the neighbourhood is famous for it.
