With only a few weeks of summer left to go, it’s time to go out and take advantage of the sunny weather. When you’re ready to cool off, head to one of these four delicious dessert spots in Richmond!
Snowy Village (8571 Alexandra Road) is a cute little spot that specializes in Bingsoo, a South Korean dessert that includes shaved milky ice with tons of sweet toppings like fruit, cookies and cheesecake! The mango flavoured bingsoo is definitely a crowd favourite, but we also suggest their feature summer flavour, watermelon! Make sure to grab a couple Taiyakis (fish-shaped cakes) while you’re at it.
Milkcow Café (105 – 5668 Hollybridge Way) is another South Korean chain that is internationally known for their organic soft serve ice cream. This place knows how to dress up an ice cream, whether it be with cookies, cotton candy or serving is between two wedges of watermelon! Their famous watermelon ice cream sandwiches are here for the summer, so try to get your hands on one while they are still available!
Jack Frost Café (6916 No. 3 Road), another master of shaved ice or as they like to call it, “snowfall”. At this tasty café you can choose between “fresh snowfall” or “sweet snowfall”. Fresh snowfall features fruits, whereas sweet snowfall is covered in cookies, cakes or even tiramisu! If you are really hot, get some dipping dots on top of your shaved ice as an extra way to cool down (and to make your dessert more colourful)!
ZenQ (3471 No. 3 Road) is an international Taiwanese chain that specializes in Grass Jelly, among many other delightful desserts. Not only does this place make shaved ice and creamy frappe desserts, but you can make your own shaved ice monster! These icy treats are almost too cute to eat, but if you do we suggest bringing a friend to help you.
