I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream! And if you aren’t screaming just yet, you certainly will be after trying these local creameries. It’s time to beat the heat by grabbing something sweet. Luckily, the Tri-Cities have some of the best ice cream spots to help you cool down this summer. We spoke with one of our Aalto Townhomes sales team members, Sarah, about her top picks.

Here are her recommendations:

Rocky Point Ice Cream – 2800 Murray St, Port Moody
What I like – Vegan Strawberry Lemonade
Why – This flavour is refreshing on a hot summer day. It has a fizzy taste exactly like a real strawberry lemonade. Rocky Point Ice Cream is certainly one to attract a crowd – and for good reason!

Twisted Creamery Food Truck – 2904 Murray St, Port Moody
What I like – Coffee Crunch
Why – It’s rolled ice cream and it is very cool to watch how they make it. Bonus – they add a real piece of chocolate on top!

Casa Dolce Gelato & Chocolate – 252 Newport Drive, Port Moody
What I like – Pistachio Gelato
Why – Pistachio gelato is one of my all-time favourite gelato flavors – especially from Casa Dolce. The texture of the gelato is very smooth, and the pistachio chunks create a perfect balance between sweet and salty.

Snowy Village (Korean Bingsoo) – 100-1188 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam
What I like – Watermelon Bingsoo
Why – It’s different from your typical ice cream. This one has fresh scoops of watermelon and sweetened condensed milk on top. Their shaved ice is made from 100% real Canadian milk, which makes it really taste creamy/silky.

Aalto Townhomes is located nearby all these delicious spots. Be sure to check them out when you’re in the neighbourhood!
