Located just 5 minutes by car or 20 minutes by transit from Aalto Townhomes lies Town Centre Park. With 103 acres to its name, Town Centre Park is one of Coquitlam’s most popular outdoor parks – especially in the summer. In 2017, Town Centre Park was recognized as the Greatest Public Space by the Canadian Institute of Planners due to its thoughtful layout and family-oriented activities. From beach volleyball and tennis courts to gardens and a waterpark, there is something here for everyone.

At the park’s centre is Lafarge Lake which features a beautiful fountain, copious amounts of rainbow trout and a 1.2 km gravel trail that serves as the perfect stroll for young families. Along the trail you will find Inspiration Garden, a nursery that showcases horticulture and garden sculptures – be sure to drop by and be inspired! If you are looking for a slightly longer walk, there is a 2.7 km loop, named Perimeter Trail, that gives you a view of the entire park. Be sure to pack the sunscreen for this one though, because there is a lot less shade on the trail!

The park is also the host for various sporting events and tournaments thanks to multiple playing fields and the state-of-the-art Percy Perry Stadium track field. If sports are your key to staying fit, then this park has the amenities that you need. Baseball diamonds, sport courts, fields and outdoor gym equipment will keep you busy all year long.

The newest addition to the park is the TD Community Plaza. This 1,300-seat amphitheater was built just over two years ago right next to Lafarge Lake. It has been the focal point of community events such as Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day, the Kaleidoscope Arts Festival and other local performances. The space is available year-round and when not in use is open for the public to enjoy.

The best part about Town Centre Park? The Evergreen Line is situated at the edge of the park creating an easy link to other areas of Coquitlam. But if your time at the park has left you thirsty and hot then why not make a quick pitstop at one of the Tri-Cities most popular hot spots: Brew Street.
