For folks considering heading to the hills (quite literally) east of Seattle, Issaquah ticks off a lot of boxes, including access to recreation, low crime rates, and—most important for many—extraordinary schools.  The Issaquah School District ranks #4 out of 236 districts in Washington State, according to www.niche.com.

Excellence in Issaquah area schools runs from elementary schools all the way through high school. Issaquah Valley Elementary even offers an introduction to robotics (using LEGO Mindstorm blocks) in July for students in Grades Four and Five. Issaquah High School specializes in preparing students for post-secondary education, especially in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects. Its Niche.com mathematics score shows an impressive 95 percent literacy rating. Overall, the school receives an A+ Niche Grade Ranking and is the 11th best public high school (out of 376) in the state.
